Monday December 27th

Josh had a very peaceful night
during the snow storm. From his
warm quiet room, we could see the
snow swirling under the street

Josh is resting this morning after
a few stormy episodes. He is opening
his eyes wide in response to voices and
noises in his room, then blinking and
closing them. A little too much stimulation
sends his heart rate and respiration up a
bit high, but he recovers in a few minutes.
Maybe he will be allowed a few visitors by
next weekend.

The next goal is to wean Josh completely off
of the breathing assistance and move him to
a rehab center specializing in brain injury.
This could take several weeks.

Our gratitude for your continued prayers, support and
generosity can not be thoroughly expressed.

Love, The Bonjos

  4. wonderful heartening news for the incurable optimists among us! thank you so much for the post.

love & namaste to all of you!

  5. p.s. my fave photo of josh to date! calls to mind this yeats verse:

I WENT out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
    And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout.

  6. We are still sending out love and prayers. The Spirit is strong. The body is amazing in its ability to bounce back after being knocked down. We never know its potential, but know that it is vast!

  7. Dear Bonjos-
It is so good to hear that Josh is responding to peoples' presence-that must be so wonderful for you after this long wait.

Sending you love and warmth of the holiday season and continuing to hold you in our hearts and minds.

  8. I am so happy to hear that Josh is opening his eyes and hearing you! He must be so happy that he can finally let you know that he is in there!
Keep up the great work Josh!
    Sending lots of love,
    Shelli Banko
