Josh had a great day yesterday! His accomplishments
in therapy included:

:Kicking a ball in PT with each foot

:Touching his nose on command

:Opening his mouth and biting a Popsicle on command

:Grabbing a ball w/ his left hand that was originally placed in his right hand

All of this progress comes at a time when the insurance company
is requiring to see more dramatic improvement to continue
Josh's stay at Bryn Mawr. Way to go Josh!

I saw something different in Josh's eyes last night. He
really is coming up into a higher state of consciousness.
He has a long journey in front of him. But, I can see the change.

Josh's storming and muscle flexing or toning are still
getting in the way of some therapy. We are trying to reduce
stimulation and excitement in between therapy sessions
to attempt to have him maximize his time with the doctors.

Thank you for all the love, prayers and support.

  1. I check this site periodically but the pictures won't load and Im not able to comment from work. I'm Josh's regular OT from PH. Thank you for posting this online, it's rewarding for me to see the progress he is making and continues to reassure me that I've chosen the right profession and that every session really matters. I think about him often and will always remember the first purposeful response Darling and I witnessed. (an amazing moment!!) I wish you all the best and I'll be checking back.

  3. I continue to hold josh in my prayers, and the rest of you as well. I imagine it must be so difficult to hang in there day after day. Please let me know if there is anything at all that I could do to ease things for you. In the meantime I try to hold the image of Josh, strong and steady as he makes his way back to the world he knows. Blessings to you all.

  12. Great news about Josh. We think of him everyday and pray for his recovery.

    Prayer for Healing
Lord, look upon me with eyes of mercy, may your healing hand rest upon me, may your life giving powers flow into every cell of my body and into the depths of my soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring me to wholeness and strength for services in your Kingdom. Amen!

  13. These are fantastic responses from Josh! It's amazing after so little time that he would come so far. Never doubt that all things are possible for those who are open to receive. It must feel like forever but it's really only a very short period of time for the amount of healing that must take place. I know of others who have suffered similar injuries who have experienced near complete recoveries. The spirit remains whole even when the body has been broken. In truth, we all suffer hurts that change us and we carryon as best as we can. Josh will certainly do the same. Be strong for Josh, and when you feel overwhelmed, let the love that others extend to you carry you. Blessings.
